Part Three of the Summit Racing/Factory Five Mk4 Roadster Buildup Now Live at OnAllCylinders.com
The third exciting episode of the Summit Racing/Factory Five Mk4 Roadster build is now live at OnAllCylinders, Summit Racing’s blog.
If you're just joining us, here's a recap of the project. The Summit Racing/Factory Five Mk4 Roadster is designed to show you how easy it is to put together a killer ride using a Factory Five Roadster kit and parts from Summit Racing’s vast inventory of parts and accessories. The first installment of the series covered the installation of the front suspension, brakes, and steering. The second highlighted the installation of the three-link rear suspension, 8.8 inch Ford rear axle, and Wilwood disc brakes.
The latest article covers the buildup and installation of the drivetrain, a 427 cubic inch Ford 351W and a Ford Racing TKO 600 5-speed transmission. Summit Racing and Factory Five’s tech experts put together the components needed to duplicate this drivetrain in Parts Combos—a ‘recipe’ of parts proven to make plenty of power for the track in a car you can drive on the street. You'll also find combos for two alternative drivetrains: a Ford Racing 306/T-5 and a Ford Racing 5.0L Coyote/Tremec Cobra R five-speed.
