Tech Answer

Can I bolt a nitrous oxide kit onto my stock engine?

Yes. NOS and Nitrous Works manufacture systems for virtually any stock engine application. The key is to choose the correct kit for a given application. Four cylinder engines normally tolerate an extra 40-60 horsepower, six cylinder engines usually work great with a 75-100 horsepower system, small V8s can typically accept up to 140 extra horsepower, and big V8's can usually accept from 125-200 extra horsepower. These suggested ranges provide maximum reliability from stock engines using cast pistons and crankshafts with few or no engine modifications.
